Tarot for Writers + Creatives

What it is…

·         A 12-week writers’ and creatives’ journey through the tarot

·         We’ll explore ways to connect with, interpret, be inspired by, and write and create through and with the tarot.

What happens on the journey…

·         Over the course of our 12 weeks, we will be invited to write, reflect, and create within the energy of each of the 78 tarot cards. Fresh batches of tarot play prompts will appear in your inbox throughout the 12 weeks of our journey. Alongside our exploration of the 78 cards, the invitations of their 4 suits and their number magic correspondences, we’ll also take time to integrate, reflect, and rest.

·         We will play with writing prompts, writing and creative games, visual and art prompts, other modalities of divination and invitations into “randomness” and chaos magic, and much, much more.

·         Our exploration of each of the tarot cards will include Symbol Play (to reflect on the powerful symbolism of the tarot), Writer’s Reflection Prompts (to use the lessons and the energy of each card to learn more about ourselves as writers and how we navigate the world creatively), Character Work Prompts (to bring the tools of tarot into action by applying them to the journeys of our characters on the page), and a Mini Story Hour with Mistress M (to get inspired by a story vignette from Mistress M’s narrative universe within the energy of each tarot card).

·         You’ll also receive Mistress M’s Tarot Play Toolbox, a playsheet of tarot exercises and games that you can use throughout the course and beyond, to guide, inspire + inform your ongoing tarot explorations.

What you’ll need

·         An open mind

·         A willingness to explore and play

·         A little time to yourself

·         A writer’s notebook (physical is great, digital is awesome too)

·         You may want to have your own tarot deck, whether physical or digital, but this isn’t a requirement. I’ll be sharing images of all 78 cards right here in the course.

What you DON’T need…

·         Any experience or special training as a writer, artist, or creative. A willingness to play and explore is enough.

·         Any experience or prior knowledge of the tarot. If you know little to nothing about the tarot, awesome! Come with your open mind and learn what this intuitive, symbol-based, and creative modality means for YOU. If you are already a tarot dabbler, intermediate, expert, or professional, or already have any kind of tarot practice of your own—equally awesome! You’ll be invited to deepen your practice, learn and try new things, and bring your own flavor to the prompts, games, and offerings here. <3

Mistress M’s Special Sauce…

·         Before you enter the chamber with Mistress M, you should know that my mindset, philosophy, creative universe, and mysticism are all queer, diverse, and inclusive. Here we celebrate the vibrant rainbow of diverse human experience. If you also come in love, then there are plenty of seats at the table for you too.

·         I am a writer who frequently plays in the realm of the erotic, the sensual, and the sexual. This is not primarily a sexual or erotic journey through the tarot (though stay tuned! ;), but it will touch upon erotic themes.

·         In this course I will be offering 78 small story excerpts from the Mistress M story universe, vignettes that illustrate, resonate with, and exist in the energy of each of the cards of the tarot. Enter deeper into the meaning and energy of each tarot card via narrative magic. See, feel, and dream with our characters. And, of course, get inspired to create tarot-flavored writings of your own.
